How Humans Work

It would perhaps be difficult to find a more fascinating topic for primary-age children than the human body and hence we have chosen this as our first IPC topic. Our Entry Point for this unit, entitled 'How Humans Work,' was a fun introduction into how our bodies work. Children in Years 3 and 4 started to think about their hearts and whether their heart rate changes after exercise. They enjoyed taking on the role of nurses and doctors and using stethoscopes to listen to their friends' heart beat before and after exercise. They also watched first aid videos about how to deal with  minor injuries.
The photos show the children's joy in learning and their enthusiasm to learn more.
