Have a good half term break

We finished lessons today with a lovely treat from Miss Fenny in the form of designing and then making a very scary pumpkin decoration!

Tasty Technology Task

The children in Year 3 and 4 have completed their technology task in IPC this afternoon by making some lovely healthy salad pots.

We have talked about the importance of healthy diets and the idea of tasting a rainbow when choosing foods.

The children have thoroughly enjoyed creating their own rainbow of salad.

First Aid Training

Children in Years 3 and 4 took part in a hands-on first aid training course today. Mr Palmer explained to the children how to deal with minor injuries like cuts, burns and feinting. The children then practised bandaging each other's arms , had a go at putting a partner in the recovery position and even got to try out some CPR.
A huge thank you to Mr Palmer for delivering the session.

Paddington's mishaps

This week, the children have been writing their own adventure stories based on the Paddington Bear books. Thank you to Esther for bringing her Paddington Bear into school. Paddington has had lots of mishaps all over the school - the dining room, the photocopying room, the Year 4 classroom and even in the changing rooms. His misadventures have helped the children to imagine what could happen to their bear in their own adventure story.

Today, the children listened to Paddington bear music, ate a custard cream and wrote their adventure stories. Do look out for their stories in the next School newsletter.

Adventure stories

This week, the children have been enjoying listening to and reading a range of adventure stories. We are now focusing on the adventures of Paddington bear and the children loved watching video clips of his adventures. In order to support the children in developing ideas for their own adventure stories, they then practised and performed puppet shows of Paddington's adventures. What a lovely afternoon!
